HAND AND WRIST PROCEDURES

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (endoscopic)

WHO ARE GOOD CANDIDATES
Endoscopic carpal tunnel release is well-suited for patients with mild to moderate symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome who prefer a minimally invasive option with quicker recovery. Candidates should not have previous wrist surgery or unusual anatomical variations that could complicate the approach.

THE PROCEDURE
In this technique, a small incision is made at the wrist or palm to insert a tiny camera, allowing the surgeon to visualize and release the transverse carpal ligament from within. This minimally invasive method reduces trauma to surrounding tissues and is performed under local anesthesia or light sedation.

EXPECTED RESULTS AND RECOVERY
Endoscopic surgery generally offers less post-operative pain and faster return to work or daily activities. Most patients notice improvement in symptoms within days to weeks, although grip strength may take a bit longer to fully return. Scarring is minimal, and many patients return to light activity within a few days.
