Dr. Mitchel Krieger is a talented and experienced plastic surgeon specializing in the art of aesthetic surgery. He started his Northern Virginia plastic surgery practice in 1997, after 12 years of service as a military surgeon. Dr. Krieger has learned advanced techniques in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery from some of the most experienced surgeons in the world, and he employs these techniques in every surgery he performs. He enjoys meeting with his patients, and sharing his ideas, knowledge, and experience in plastic surgery with each of them.

A Commitment to Service

Dr. Krieger earned his medical degree from Albany Medical College, completing the six-year accelerated combined biomedical program with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He went on to complete his internship and general surgery residency training in San Francisco.

Joining the team at the United States Military Hospital in Heidelberg, Germany, Dr. Krieger served three years as chief of general surgery. He also served as a surgical consultant to the British Army during the Gulf War. Returning to Washington, D.C. in 1993, he completed fellowship training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He then had the honor of serving as assistant chief of plastic surgery at Dwight David Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia.

A Commitment to Excellence

During this time, Dr. Krieger served on the teaching faculty for the plastic surgery residency program at the Medical College of Georgia, where he was able to participate in the training of future cosmetic surgeons. An active participant in the Fairfax County Medical Society, the Medical Society of Virginia, and the National Capital Society of Plastic Surgeons, Dr. Krieger maintains privileges at Fair Oaks Hospital and Prince William Hospital. In addition, he has been involved with many humanitarian missions providing plastic surgical services both locally and abroad. His spirit of caring and commitment is obvious in all his endeavors.

One of Dr. Krieger's particular areas of interest and specialization is post-bariatric plastic surgery. Acknowledged by many as one of the most experienced bariatric plastic surgeons in the country, he has recently co-authored Bariatric Plastic Surgery - A Guide to Cosmetic Surgery after Weight Loss. This newly published book is available from most major book retailers. This book is designed to be a guide to help those who have undergone massive weight loss in addressing their cosmetic surgery needs.
