For Drs. Mitchel Krieger and Andrew Goldberg, beauty lies in the details. The doctors provide patients with "extensive details regarding all aspects of care," starting with preoperative visits, where goals and procedures are discussed in depth, and extending all the way through to postoperative care, in order to ensure proper healing. Throughout the experience, patients are always seen by their respective physician. "I feel it's important that I am the one patients see when they come for their postoperative appointments, as I don't believe in delegating what I feel are my responsibilities," says Dr. Krieger, who describes plastic surgery as "a challenging, rewarding and creative field." Similarly, Dr. Goldberg values listening to patients in order to match their desired surgery goals to their individual lifestyles. "I talk to patients to learn more about them and understand 'the big picture,'" he says. "Having a complete appreciation for what each patient is looking to achieve enables me to reach patients' goals safely, comfortably and in accordance with their visions." For pain management, "We identify patients' post-surgical comfort levels to stay ahead of any anticipated discomfort," says Dr. Krieger, who notes that some more extensive procedures can incorporate pain medication pumps for additional alleviation of pain.
With their practice conveniently located just minutes from Dulles airport, on the Fair Oaks Hospital campus, the doctors treat a wide variety of patients who come from near and far for their services. Dr. Goldberg describes the philosophy behind his and Dr. Krieger's practice as one that is based around a zeal for excellence. "We get to understand patients' histories so we can provide a tailored, optimal approach for their cosmetic plans," he says.
